Sales and Accounts representative
REPORTS TO:
Director of Operations; FLSA: Exempt
JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
We refer to the manufacturing branch of Angel City Lumber (ACL) as The Honoring Branch. This is where the rubber meets the road in carrying out our mission: to reconnect Angelenos to their LA trees. We accomplish this mission by manufacturing the wood from our fallen LA trees through sawmilling, drying wood, dressing wood, minor fabrication, and warehousing.
The Production Manager is the captain of the entire Honoring Branch. They are responsible for setting and keeping the pace and momentum of the branch, ensuring that at every stage of production the team works efficiently, safely, and with pride. This role is central to moving the needle on ACL’s revenue, manufacturing goals, and overall operational health.
This role requires a practical, hands-on leader who can anticipate challenges, respond decisively, and guide the team through shifting priorities. The Production Manager maintains a clear view of the entire operation, coordinating people and processes to keep production on schedule.
The ideal candidate is experienced, level headed, solutions-driven, someone who rallies people around goals, makes informed decisions with confidence, and turns challenges into opportunities for progress.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Individual Pipeline Ownership and Client Acquisition
- Manage personal inbound leads to convert opportunities from initial request to close with speed and clarity.
- Conduct client consultations to determine project scope, materials, and feasibility.
- Host Monthly Tours for prospective clients and accounts.
- Prepare proposal documents using estimator-generated estimates for clients.
- Ensure project details are complete and accurate before handoff to the Project Manager.
- Maintain ongoing communication with recurring clients, vendors, architects, and designers.
- Close sales aligned with ACL’s mission, capacity, and pricing structure.
- Monitor client satisfaction and resolve escalated issues.
Sales Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Field new project inquiries and coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely response and qualification.
- Work closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, and Production Managers to ensure feasibility, pricing accuracy, and smooth handoffs.
- Collaborate with Marketing to support sales enablement tools and outreach strategies.
- Communicate client needs, timelines, and constraints clearly across teams.
Sales Systems & Reporting
- Track personal leads, opportunities, and deal progress to ensure a healthy pipeline; Keep CRM records and sales documentation accurate and up to date
- Review personal sales performance and submit data for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Use and follow established sales processes, scripts, templates, and workflows, suggesting improvements as needed
ATTENDANCE
This position is primarily on-site, with flexibility for remote communication as needed. Regular in-person coordination with Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and the Production Manager is required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The Sales & Accounts Representative should have 3–5 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, ideally within architecture, construction materials, design, manufacturing, or related fields.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong Experience with architectural drawings and building materials.
- CRM familiarity; QuickBooks Online and Airtable experience a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to meet sales goals.
- Strong consultative sales skills and ability to close deals.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Quick and sound decision-making.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Frequently lift and/or carry items or materials that typically weigh up to 25 pounds.

COMPENSATION
- Base pay ($18/hr) with commission-based compensation on closed sales.
- Additional performance-based incentives on team sales, retention, and revenue targets.

Part Time Store Associate
REPORTS TO:

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The Retail Store is Angel City Lumber’s Connector, linking the Los Angeles community to its deceased trees via their beautiful bounty: wood products. As the Connector, the Retail Department is the key to realizing ACL’s mission: “Reconnecting Angelenos to nature by manufacturing wood products from the fallen trees they have lived with in their neighborhoods.” In addition to selling local wood products to our community, the Store Team is responsible for reconnecting Angelenos to nature by guiding them through our lifecycle process from log to lumber. Each conversation, sale, and interaction with a customer in the showroom represents a community that participates with and honors its trees. The Part Time Store Associate is responsible for working with the other store team members to achieve goals and hit metrics for the department and develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Achieve sales through walk-ins and customer correspondence via phone calls, emails and scheduled appointments
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve escalated customer complaints in a timely manner to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Develop, leverage, and nurture customer relationships to generate retail sales.
- Manage orders through email and online channels
- Work with the Project Manager to oversee custom product orders
- Lead showroom displays, placement and organization
- Photograph new products (specific slabs, species, etc.) to send to the marketing team
- Work with marketing team on promotional activities to increase sales
- Task management and accountability
- Team support to achieve goals
- In reference to productivity assumptions and yearly projections
- Report on key performance indicators and metrics to measure retail sales
- Track inventory and management alongside the production manager
- Including pricing, ordering and presentation of products and retail department supplies
- Meet with the Sales Manager weekly to review weekly, monthly and quarterly goals, scheduling, and performance expectations
- Provide tours to local community of the lumber yard
- Tours are offered for schools, firms, etc.
- Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies.
- Keep commitments and keep direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
The ideal Part Time Store Associate will fulfill the following:
- Interest in urban trees and lumber
- Some knowledge of wood/woodworking/joinery
- Prior experience in retail industry
- Knowledge of Shopify or similar online point of sales system
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities
- Organization and presentational skills
- Team-oriented
- Reliable and able to cover shifts for teammates when necessary
